Industrial pumps are the core equipment of fluid conveying systems,and their installation quality directly determines the operational efficiency and later maintenance costs of the equipment.The root cause of many early failures of pump equipment lies in non-standard installation procedures.Mastering a standardized and easy-to-remember installation process is the key to ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.

Step 1:Foundation Inspection

Before installation,it is necessary to check the site conditions against the construction drawings,confirm that the installation floor has passed the structural acceptance,the building axes and elevation lines have been marked,and the foundation concrete strength has reached more than 70%.

The coordinates,elevation,dimensions and reserved holes of the foundation must meet the design requirements.For installation without vibration isolation,the plane size of the foundation should be 100~150mm wider than the periphery of the unit base;for installation with vibration isolation,it should be 150mm wider than the periphery of the vibration isolation base.The top elevation of the foundation should be more than 100mm above the pump room floor for installation without vibration isolation,and more than 50mm above for installation with vibration isolation,and there must be no water accumulation.Drainage facilities must be installed around the foundation.At the same time,clean up the debris on the foundation surface and in the reserved holes for anchor bolts,protect the threads of the pre-embedded anchor bolts,and the parts where shims are placed must be chiseled flat.

Step 2:Equipment Positioning and Installation

The positioning of pump equipment is divided into two methods:integral installation and split assembly.Equipment delivered as a whole has already combined the pump body,motor and base,and only needs to be aligned and leveled after the base is in place.Equipment delivered separately requires installing the pump body and motor respectively before connecting them.

Place the equipment on the foundation,align and level it with shims.The same group of shims must be fixed by spot welding after installation to prevent loosening under force.For installation without vibration isolation,the anchor bolt screws should be vertical,with an exposed length of 1/2 of the screw diameter;the concrete strength of the secondary grouting should be 1~2 grades higher than that of the foundation,and not lower than C25.For installation with vibration isolation,rubber or spring dampers should be installed under the base according to the equipment type.The dampers under the same base must be of the same manufacturer and model,and anti-tilting measures must be taken during installation.For on-site assembly of large rotary pumps,it is necessary to first make section steel brackets according to the design drawings,fix them on the foundation with anchor bolts and complete the rough horizontal adjustment,then carry out the positioning and connection of the pump body and motor.

Step 3:Inspection and Adjustment

After the equipment is in place,precision calibration is required,which is a key link to ensure the smooth operation of pump equipment.Use a level and plumb bob to measure on the inlet and outlet flanges and the machined surface of the base.The levelness of the integrally installed horizontal pump body should not be greater than 0.1/1000,and the verticality of the vertical pump body should not be greater than 0.1/1000.

For pumps and motors connected by couplings,use a dial indicator and feeler gauge to measure and adjust the axial and radial deviations of the couplings.The axial inclination should not be greater than 0.8/1000,and the radial displacement should not be greater than 0.1mm.During adjustment,it can be corrected by placing thin steel plates or copper sheets of different thicknesses at the bolts,and tighten all connecting bolts after passing the inspection.

Step 4:Lubrication and Oil Filling

After the precision calibration is completed,check the oil cups of the equipment and fill with the specified type of lubricating oil.Rotate the coupling to check that the equipment should rotate flexibly without jamming,abnormal noise or other abnormal phenomena.This step can detect possible mechanical problems during the installation process in advance and avoid damaging the equipment during the test run.

Step 5:Test Run

The test run is the final link to inspect the installation quality.First open the water inlet valve and exhaust valve to fill the pump body with medium,and close the water outlet pipe valve.Jog the motor to check whether the rotation direction is correct and whether there is abnormal vibration and noise.After confirming that there is no error,start the equipment,slowly open the water outlet pipe valve,check the equipment operation status,temperature rise of the motor and bearings,readings of the pressure gauge and vacuum gauge,and pipeline connection conditions.All indicators should meet the design requirements.

The above five steps have clear logic and clear operations.As long as they are strictly implemented in accordance with the specifications,the installation quality of pump equipment can be effectively guaranteed,laying a solid foundation for subsequent stable operation.
