The primary principle of construction is: if the product technical documentation has special provisions, they must be prioritized and strictly followed. During the foundation preparation stage, the choice between installation with or without shim blocks can be made based on the actual equipment situation. The foundation surface where shim blocks are to be placed must be pre-scraped level, with a levelness tolerance of 2 mm/m, to ensure even contact with the shim blocks and a contact area of not less than 50%. A shim block group typically should not exceed four layers, with a recommended height between 30 and 70 mm.

When hoisting and positioning the equipment, it is essential to strictly follow the lifting points identified by the manufacturer. After preliminary leveling, install the anchor bolts. The bolts must remain vertical, and the clearance between the smooth shank of the bolt and the hole wall must not be less than the specified distance. This is followed by continuous grouting and pouring, ensuring the anchor bolts are correctly positioned within their holes.
Precise leveling and alignment are critical to the installation. Fine adjustment must be performed using shim blocks, commonly employing the three-point leveling method. It is strictly forbidden to adjust the levelness by tightening or loosening the anchor bolts. The final installed levelness requirements for the pump are stringent: the allowable deviation for longitudinal levelness is generally 0.05 mm/m, and for transverse levelness, it is 0.10 mm/m.
The installation datum must be selected accurately. For equipment like pumps, the pump body machining surface or the inlet/outlet flange face is often used as the reference. Another core procedure is coupling alignment. It is imperative to ensure that the radial displacement between the pump shaft axis and the motor shaft axis strictly complies with the standard specifications. This is crucial for the smooth operation of all rotating machinery, including rotor pumps.
After the shim block group is adjusted and passes inspection, inter-layer welding for fixation is required. The final tightening of the anchor bolts should be performed symmetrically and evenly. The bolts should protrude from the nut by 1.5 to 3 threads, while simultaneously monitoring for any changes in the levelness.
Furthermore, throughout the entire process, it is necessary to ensure the pump's sealing areas are tight and leak-free; the clearance between the impeller and the pump casing complies with the technical documentation, with no friction or abnormal noise; and all connection points are secure and reliable. For equipment such as rotor pumps, the allowable installation deviations (e.g., centerline tolerance of ±5 mm) must be strictly adhered to. Only by meticulously perfecting every single step can a solid foundation be laid for the pump unit's efficient, long-lasting, and leak-free operation.
